Series One: Cobbs Hill

Situated on one of Rochester's rolling hills, the Cobbs Hill neighborhood is a diverse mix of natural and historical amenities. Home to the oldest Jewish community in Rochester, the Temple Beth El stands as a prime example of modern religious architecture, while the First Unitarian Church complements the synagogue across the street.

Perhaps Cobbs Hill's most notable feature, and the reason for the forest green color of the shirt, is Cobbs Hill Park and Washington Grove. Natural features like Lake Riley, the old growth oak-hickory forest of Washington Grove, and one of Rochester's five rolling hills, provide a variety of amenities for Rochesterians. At the top of the hill lies one of Rochester's city reservoirs, for which many residents walk/jog/run. This aspect of Cobbs Hill is celebrated by the Greek Revival style Gate House graphic on the shirt. The lake blue color of the gate house represents, as mentioned before, Lake Riley. Sunbathers and calm seekers set up shop around it's grassy shore, and come winter time, ice-skaters traverse the frozen top.

The Rochester subway system traveled west to east servicing as much of the city neighborhoods as possible: Residents and visitors of Cobbs Hill would jump on and off the Highland Avenue station for access.
